YouTube seeks to compete with TikTok app

The YouTube platform is trying to develop a new feature for shorts, which is the feature of YouTube's development to compete with Chinese video sharing app TikTok, which has grown in popularity in recent months.

And this feature, it's going to be in the YouTube mobile app
This allows users to upload short videos within the app, similar to TikTok, and to take advantage of the licensed music owned by the YouTube Music Library in its list, in order to create short videos similar to those on TikTok.

The YouTube platform enables you to use these songs and music within videos, similar to TikTok, which allows people to choose from a selection of music, songs, audio swathes, etc., and create videos using those sounds.

The company plans to launch the feature later this year, as social media giants such as Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat are watching the rapid rise of TikTok app closely, but YouTube is the first service to plan a direct challenge with the Chinese app TikTok, which has grown in popularity in recent times.

Susan Wojcicki, Ceo of YouTube, said in a recent interview with NBC News that the company is looking forward to moving on to short video features, saying, "Very short videos with a time of not more than 15 seconds are an exciting place. It's definitely interesting to get in, and we have to think about it."

"We've introduced stories on YouTube and seen content makers interact with stories, and this is an example of short content, so we'll definitely continue to innovate in all different formats, including short videos."

TikTok has grown by more than 125 percent over the past two years, has hundreds of millions of users, and has nearly 842 million first-time downloads from Apple and Google app stores over the past 12 months, a 15 percent year-on-year increase.

There is no doubt that music-backed short videos have been a huge success for TikTok, filling the void left by Vine and the like, and given the huge user base – more than 2 billion monthly active users – and music licensing agreements, youTube builds For a copy of TikTok is not surprising.
