Facebook inc. announced Thursday the launch of its Messenger instant messaging app for Windows PC from Microsoft and Apple's Mac Oss.

Facebook, which has the world's largest social network, said in a blog post: The app's launch comes to help users make video calls on a computer, stay in touch with friends and family around the world.

The company said it has seen a 100% increase in the number of people using the Messenger app via desktop browsers to make voice and video calls. Now there is a special app for the service on Windows, and MacOs offers unlimited free calls.

Facebook added: "Messenger desktop systems provides the ability to make face-to-screen video calls, makes it easier to communicate with all friends on Messenger, and to continue to do other things on the computer during calls.

The app supports notifications, as well as synchronizing calls between mobile devices and desktopdevices. It supports the dark situation.

The Messenger desktop app can be downloaded from the Microsoft Windows Store and the Mac Oss App Store.
