Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro announced on Thursday that a third highly advanced phone, the Huawei P40 Pro Plus, has been announced.

The Huawei P40 Pro Plus offers the same advanced specifications as the Huawei P40 Pro, but there is a second binocular lens with an 8-megapixel sensor, making the number of rear cameras 4 cameras, as well as the ToF 3D sensor.

The second lens uses a 240 mm focal length, meaning it's twice the focal length of huawei P40 Pro's only binocular lens, making the phone the first to offer lenses of this length. The phone also has an additional telephoto camera with an 80mm lens, to bridge the gap between extreme zoom and a normal camera. This gives users greater flexibility and allows them to take high-quality images at different distances.

Huawei CEO Richard Yu told us Thursday in an online question-and-answer session following the announcement of the new Huawei P40: Phones will not be affected by the new Coronavirus outbreak and will be available naturally.

Richard Yu spoke about Huawei's mobile services HMS, virus mode, and the new voice assistant Celia. The availability of Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro Plus will not be affected by the virus, and confirmed that phones and their components have been in production since last December, before the outbreak disrupted supply chains.

Speaking of demand, Richard Yu revealed that people now want more laptops and tablets under having to work and study from home. Smartphones have also generally seen an increase in demand, as people are spending more time using them.

Huawei's MOBILE SERVICES HMS will remain the main platform under continued U.S. sanctions that prevent the Chinese company from using Google's services and applications.
