Apple launches app and site to check Corona

Apple announced Friday the launch of a new screening tool, a set of resources to help people stay informed and take appropriate steps to protect their health during the spread of COVID-19, based on the latest guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.

The new website for the virus, as well as the app available on the App Store, was created in partnership with the CDC to facilitate people's access to information and reliable guidance at a time when the country is feeling the heavy burden of the Coved-19 outbreak, the U.S. tech giant said in a blog post.

The Coved-19 app and its website allow users to answer a series of questions about risk factors, exposure, and symptoms for themselves or their loved ones. In return, they will receive recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the following steps: guidance on social spacing, self-isolation, how to closely monitor symptoms, whether it is advisable to take a test at this time, and when to contact your medical care provider.

Apple stressed that the new screening tool was designed to be a resource for individuals, and did not replace the instructions of health care providers or the guidelines of local health authorities. The company also noted that the new tool is an update of another feature it has recently provided, allowing users to ask for help by asking Siri.

In order to keep users' privacy private, Apple said: The Coved-19 app and its website are built to keep all user data safe and private, as it does not require users to register to access using the Apple ID.

Apple said that all users in the United States who are 18 years of age or older can download the app from the App Store, or go to the website: apple.com/covid19.
