Huawei officially announces P40 and P40 Pro phones
Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro on Thursday officially announced their two flagship smartphones: Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro, after months of leaks and waiting. Like previous versions, the two phones come in partnership with German optics company Leica, and they come with many advanced features.

The Huawei B40 Pro is the most powerful of the two phones, featuring its Display, which Huawei calls Overflow Display with 4 curved rims. The display includes the front camera, similar to Samsung's flagship phones, so Huawei abandons the model that the Huawei P30 came up with last year.
The 32-megapixel front camera is capable of recording 4K video at 60 frames per second, and besides the camera there are two sensors, one for infrared depth imaging, gesture recognition, and the other close-up.
The same screen comes from an OLED 6.58" with a resolution of 2640 x 1200 pixels and a high refresh rate of 90 Hz. The phone also features a fingerprint sensor on the screen.
On the back of the phone, there are 3 cameras and a fourth ToF 3D imaging sensor. The main rear camera comes in 50 MP sits with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, which is larger than the 1/1.33-inch Galaxy S20 Ultra.
Huawei says this camera supports octa Phase Detection AF, which means that 100% of pixels support phase autofocus. The main camera also supports ois optical installation technology and comes with an f/1.9 aperture.
The second rear camera comes with a 5X optical zoom design and comes in 12MP resolution. The 40-megapixel ultra-high-resolution camera comes with an f/1.8 aperture.
According to Huawei, rear phone cameras support 4K and 60-frame-per-second video recording, and support Super Steady Telephoto Video technology that enhances optical installation capabilities. The camera also supports the ISO level of 51,200 and supports ultra-slow shooting at 7,680 frames per second.
The Huawei B40 Pro has a 4,200 mAh battery, which supports 27-watt wireless charging technology, and a 40-watt wired charging capability. The phone supports IP68 water and dust resistance and will be available in several colors, including black, white, silver and gold.
Huawei plans to roll out its phone from April 7, 2000 euros, with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Different from the Huawei P40 Pro as smaller, it doesn't offer the same advanced specifications, it offers a smaller screen measuring 6.1 inches, which is flat and not curved, and comes with FHD+ resolution and an update rate of 60 Hz.
The rear camera shares the Huawei P40 Pro with the main camera as similar, while the second 8MP camera comes with 3X optical zoom, OIS optical installation, f/2.4 aperture, and the third camera is 16MP and f/2.2 aperture. The phone does not offer a ToF 3D imaging sensor.
As for the front camera, it also comes in 32 MP resolution, but it doesn't support autofocus technology, nor does it come with an infrared depth sensor. The screen comes with a fingerprint sensor.
Like the Huawei P40 Pro, the Huawei P40 has the latest Huawei Processor (Kirin 990 5G) Kirin 990 5G, which supports 5G networks. However, the phone lacks IP68 water and dust resistance support, as it only supports ip53 water spray resistance.
The phone has a 3,800 mAh battery, but lacks wireless charging technology support, but supports 22.5w fast wired charging.
Huawei plans to launch the Huawei B40 for 800 euros from April 7 with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Under continued U.S. sanctions against the Chinese company, Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 come without Google's services and apps, but they are running Android 10 with huawei AppGallery app store.
Both phones also feature a new voice assistant called Celia, which supports English, French and Spanish.
